The best part of spring break involved a tiny, new little doll! This is our newest niece/cousin, Clara. Lucky for us, she was born two weeks early or we would have missed seeing her. I guess she really wanted to be held (and held and held) by her cousins, so she obliged us by moving her birthday up!
Madeline could not get enough of this girl! Unfortunately, Madeline had recently been sick, so I tried to limit her time with the baby. She is so excited for her own new sister that she can hold till she can't stand it anymore!
Camilla and Madeline both got to go with Kevin to Cabela's. They were a little unsure of how much they'd like it, but luckily they had a blast! (Natalia held little Clara for a reeeaaaallllly long time, but the camera was at Cabela's with these ladies, and I some how missed taking a picture later).
Little Ben (we used to always refer to him as Baby Ben, but now that Clara is the baby, I guess he'll just have to be Little Ben for a few years) had a birthday party which we were lucky enough to attend. His amazing mother put on quite the party--even more amazing because her baby was only a week and a half old! She is incredible. Ben is obsessed with trains, and this cake was super cute and fit him just right!
I always kind of like to do some fun April Fool's day food, but since we were traveling, all I did was the jelled-juice this year. It was still fun.
Grandma Kathy pulled out her whole collection of beads and let my girls make bracelets to their hearts' content during conference. She didn't even keep her most beautiful, fanciest beads back--it was all fair game! So nice of her.
She and my dad and Grandma Smith also watched all five kids so Kevin and I could go to the last session of conference on Sunday. That in itself is quite a feat, but in addition to that, Anna was super grumpy and grouchy and Eliza had a fever of 104! I was really worried about her and didn't really want to leave her, but who has more able hands than my own mother?
Then they drove the kids to Salt Lake to meet us so we wouldn't have to drive all the way back and forth. What fabulous parents! It was SO nice to have that extra head start on our drive home. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Fun weekend! One of these days you really need to get down the freeway just a few more miles and come see us.
ReplyDeleteWhen will you be sending my new bracelet to me, oh master jewelry makers? If you drop the kids off in China, I will watch them while you attend a conference session. Just keep that in mind for next year. Miss you!
