Did you know that only two of my six children will get to go to school on their birthdays? (Unless Natalia, Anna, or Mari end up with summer school). With three summer birthdays and Madeline's being a holiday, only Camilla and Eliza ever get the privilege of bringing treats to their class on their REAL birthday. Crazy, huh?
Eliza received two stuffed cows for her birthday. . . just what she always wanted! (They are from Natalia and Madeline).
My sister, Sarah, got her girls some Legos for their birthdays. I have never seen "girl" Legos before, but knew they'd be perfect for my Eliza! She is a detailed girl and loves to build things. I debated between the big bucket of Legos and the cuter, but smaller sets of "Lego friends." In the end, I signed up for an Amazon credit card, got the $50 gift certificate, and bought both. Legos are pricey!
The beautiful dress is from Grandma Yearsley, the stickers on her face are from her sisters.
Eliza's friend, Isabelle, came over after kindergarten for a birthday play date. We had a great time creating the Lego houses together!
Eliza requested a 6 layer cake. Hmm. That's a lot of cake, says I. She wanted it rainbow colors. How can you refuse a 6 year old a 6 layer cake, however? (Since I made it, Camilla has now asked if she could have an 8 layer cake. We'll see. . . next thing you know, Kevin will want a 37 layer cake.)
She knew the order of the rainbow colors. I never knew she'd met ROY G BIV!
Purple is a little fatter--it was the first one baked, it's a little fatter than the rest. I decided to thin them out a bit after it was made. But, we just say (since there's a layer per year) it's her current year, so it's still growing just like she is!
Eliza loves to share with her sisters. She recently bought some little packages of gum with her money and gave each of her sisters two--one for dessert, and one for a movie treat.
When one of her sisters loses the privilege of dessert, she always tries to sneak them some of hers.
She usually likes to fill the whole page when she's coloring--no white spots left!
She may become a marathon runner like Aunt Sarah some day--she loves to run to the bus stop in the mornings and beat her sisters there.
We love Eliza!
Oh my goodness, Lindy!!! That cake is amazing and looks so delicious. Happy Birthday to sweet and always so happy Eliza!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Eliza!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about her---totally meant to send birthday wishes (I'm sure she got them through the air somehow).
I'm not really late, just helping the celebration last all month. : )
LOVE the cake, love the recycled gifts, love that girl. I never ran to the bus stop...she's way more ambitious than I.
And you're gonna love those Legos. Holy cow have they been played with non-stop here. Of course we don't have toddlers that can eat them...probably better watch for that. ; )
P.S. My kids love the song "Roy G Biv" by TMBG. Check it out
ReplyDeleteWhat fun presents and cake. I love legos too. I love to play with them give them and receive them. It is such a great gift because you can always add more and never seem to have enough. So, yeah I like legos. :) I think it's so fun that they make the girl legos now. Eliza can come over and play legos with me anytime.
