Easter Party!

Do any of you have trouble figuring out what order to put your pictures in? It is beyond my brain sometimes, so these are a little out of order, but at least they are here, right?!

We were lucky to have a great big houseful of people for Easter/conference weekend. Lance and his girlfriend, Shaelyn came (she was quite eagerly anticipated by my girls!), then Sarah and Gabe and kids came also. Grandpa Reese and Grandma Kathy came, but opted to stay at Grandpa Mitchell's rather than camp on the floor. All three of our hide-a-beds were already full!

Lucky little Natalia was sleeping in her own crib in her own room, so she missed the early morning Easter basket raid. She consequently had breakfast, got dressed, and got her hair done before she even knew there was a basket full of candy waiting to be eaten! With her reputation, though, she probably would have eaten breakfast first even if she had been given a choice.

Madeline and the rest of the cousins skipped breakfast and ate just candy. Since this pretty much just happens on Easter and Christmas, I say go for it! Get the candy gone in one day and be done with it.

We had some fabulous looking eggs after we were done with them. I'd like to see any hen match these beauties!

We had a lovely and frigid Easter snowfall. Adam wasn't daunted by the fact that he had no pants or shoes. Get out there and find those eggs before someone else does!

How many sisters would willingly give their own shoes to their younger sibling and walk in the snow to hunt eggs? I am pretty sure my children would not fall into that category, but since my older sister probably would, it follows that her children would be just as generous!

Camilla and Maria were just two of our lovely "egg designers." They might go professional one day. Watch for them.

Here is the crew that was awake at 3:45 AM to see if the Easter bunny had arrived yet. Seeing that he had was not enough assurance to get them back in bed. They had to get some samples to check the quality before they could go back to sleep. Madeline and Camilla wanted to wake Eliza up to join them, but luckily party-pooper mommy got there in time to stop that scheme. I sent them all back to bed (but let them choose a piece of candy to bring with them!). I am not sure if Madeline and Alisa ever fell back asleep.

With all of that sugar pumping through their veins, none of the children fell asleep during conference. I can't say the same for the adults, nor can I promise that all the children listened to all sessions, but considering the circumstances, I don't think we did too bad! We had a great time and hopefully improved our resolve a bit in the process.

  2. Will there ever come a day when we actually wake up BEFORE our children? Perhaps. Cute pictures, and clever comments!
