Great to Be Eight!

I can't believe my sweet little Madeline is eight years old! Boy, time flies when you measure it with kids. She was really excited to be baptized. I was really excited for her as well. It feels very different being on the "Mom" end of things!

We tried for a quick snow-background shot, but it was so cold we didn't try long enough to get a fabulous one.

Madeline decorated her cake with the number 8 herself--at least most of it. I finished up when her hand got cramped from squeezing the star tips.
(By the way, thanks to all the family who were able to make it to support Madeline. We appreciate your efforts!)

Love baptism jumpers!

Madeline loves to read her new scriptures. She's been quite helpful at family scripture study time because she is so eager to read. Kevin told her he'd take her to Disneyland if she read the whole Bible before she turned 12. She has read at least the first 4 chapters of Genesis . . . .

Madeline is a wonderful helper with her younger siblings--she particularly enjoys taking care of Natalia and Anna.

Madeline loves to read American Girl books.

She loves watching Little House on the Prairie.

Madeline loves to cook and sew--her specialties are cakes and designing dresses.

We can't imagine life without our Madeline!

  1. Nothing like the happy face of an eight year old ready to be baptized! She looks so angelic in the beautiful dress and that awesome ribbon braid in her hair. Special day! It also is one of the highlight days of being a mother :) Congrats.
