A few of my favorite things. . . .

I opened my closet door the other day to find this scene. First unusual thing: all jackets are hanging, none are lying on the floor. That doesn't happen very often. Second thing: I was so touched by all the cute little jackets hanging in a row that I grabbed my camera. It's kind of a random picture, but reminded me how soon those tiny jackets will be replaced by big ones. Kind of sad! (And I am sure it will still be rare to find them all hanging).

That's just cute. Madeline has become a really great piano practicer lately--she no longer takes lessons from me and it seems to have made quite a difference in her motivation! She is always very cute about helping her little sisters. Aren't they lucky?

Three helpers.

Eliza and Natalia were even given knives (yes, sharp ones. Only Eliza ended up with one little cut). Anna was just put in charge of stirring the pits.

Just try and tell me that doesn't look like a super fun messy job! These three have eagerly helped me can apricots, tomatoes, peaches, and apples. And, truthfully, they were a good bit of help.

  1. Oh, that it so cute. I want to stir the pits next time I come. You are amazing. I canned zero this year. Blah on me. Good on you.
