Madeline had a totally grown up gift this year--an Amazon gift certificate from Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Reese! She immediately knew she wanted a "LPSO" dancing dog. It plugs into an I-pod and dances to your music. Very cool. She searched through the million other amazon options and finally decided on a pillow pet. Best form of pet to get, I say!
Her other grown up gift was money from Grandma and Grandpa Yearsley. Grandma usually gives them a dress for their birthdays, but at age 9, she stops picking them out and just gives the money (though she has great taste and we have many, many beautiful dresses from her). Since she's given us so many dresses, I have actually NEVER BOUGHT A DRESS FOR MY FIVE DAUGHTERS other than from garage sales! Pretty good to have five girls age 9 and under and never spent money on a dress, eh?!
As convenient as it is to have her to do our dress shopping, it was fun for me to take Madeline and try on all the dresses. I love the one she picked out. Very grown up and trendy!
