Farewell Summer, Hello School!

Ah, we had a lovely summer.  I love summer.  Love it.  Love it.  Love it.  I love the early sunrises, beautiful morning walks, gardens, family parties, swimming, watermelon, kids playing in their magical worlds all day long.  I wish it could last forever.  This year it almost did!

Our school district decided to start school AFTER Labor Day--something they never did in all of my school years.  That added an extra lovely week to our summer vacation.  I loved the extra week to spend soaking up time with my kids!  But, alas, that first day came and I sent FOUR children off to school!  Yes, that left only TWO at home!  As much as I missed having them all home, it was really good for Anna and Mari to get to claim some "mommy time."

They are very good sports, but often have to tag along to the older girls' activities and don't get a lot of individual attention from me.  It has been nice having quieter mornings with just the three of us.

Eliza, my lovely first grader.

Natalia, kindergartener extraordinaire.  (Can I just say I am sooo glad we don't have all day kindergarten!?  I would miss this little girl to death!)

Camill--3rd grade--she almost forgot to wear her pants this morning! (Just kidding)

My fashionable 5th grader.  Always on top of what is popular and stylish.

Cute little Anna.  She totally thought she was getting on the bus, too.  She was sad to find out she had to turn five first.

Watch out school books!  Here we come!

Mari dear has finally learned to walk!  She also climbs and gets into all of Anna's things.  So hard for Anna to deal with!

First steps lunge!
