What Kind of Mom Serves Donuts for breakfast?

My friend Laura kindly brought us a lovely plate of donuts last night. The girls were already in bed, so I let them have them for breakfast (after they drank a smoothie filled with delicious fruit, carrots, and flaxseeds, of course). Most of my children were thrilled.
Not Natalia. . .

She happily drank her smoothie, then sat looking at her donut for a good ten minutes. We tried getting her to taste it, but apparently it was just too far from the norm. She wouldn't give it a chance.

I finally gave in and let her have a good old fashioned bowl of oatmeal. (She's getting pretty good with a spoon as you can tell!)

After eating about half the bowl, she decided to lick the frosting and eat the top half of the donut, then she was done.
Oh, how I wish I had such restraint!!

  1. Wow you have her trained good! I'm usually wishing I had a doughnut while I'm eating my oatmeal (or other bland "healthy" food) breakfast.

  2. What a smart child you have there. I have found if you eat one donut you just want another!
