This little darling looked forward to the start of first grade with some excitement, but a bit of anxiety as well. She didn't have a best friend in class with her and going to school all day long was a little overwhelming.
However, when I brought her to her classroom, she was all smiles and there were no butterflies in sight! She had a great day and came home super happy about her class, teacher, bus, lunch, etc. Go Camilla!
We bought back to school clothes at garage sales this year. Happily, I spent less than a quarter on each of their cute dresses. Black leggings were scarce at garage sales this year, though, so I had to fork over a bit more for those. But, after I bought them we did find another pair at a garage sale, so now there are 3 pairs between the two of them. Don't they look cute!!
Madeline could not WAIT for school to start. She thought it unfair that Minidoka and Utah both started a whole WEEK before we did! Plus, after back to school night got her hopes all up, she had to wait three more days till she could actually start! I am glad she loves school so much. But her morning job all summer was vacuuming the living room and I had to do it today, so I might just keep her home from now on.
Lest you worry about my loneliness while my darling Camilla and Madeline are at school, I want you to know I have plenty of company still around! With three of my own plus the occasional extra, I'm not likely to be lonely, or bored, or have nothing to do for a good long while.
Anna empties this cupboard for me several times each hour so I always have a fun little clean up job to attend to.
And with the older girls, I always get to play "Grandma" when we play house, so I am well loved and cared for. And they help out with the chores, too. And the messes. Eliza starts preschool next week, so I might be down to just two (0r 3) kids occasionally and then I might start twiddling my thumbs. We'll see.
I am dying over Natalia's face pulling. So funny.
