No! No! Not Nine Already!

Madeline LOVES to make and decorate cakes! She wanted to decorate her own and had a design all planned out. She wanted roses, so I checked on youtube how to make frosting roses. I showed her the video, but she told me she already had a plan, so she just set to work!

She got a reading lamp to keep by her bed. She takes after Kevin more than me--I like to go to bed at bedtime, they would rather stay up and read! I do love to read, but not too late generally (unless I'm reading Harry Potter or something equally compelling).

Nine and almost ninety!

She did a great job with her cake--it was as delicious as she makes it look!

Ever since she turned 8 last year, she has been dreading having to turn 9 and have fast Sunday on her birthday. Lucky for her, they switched it to the next week, so she got to feast instead of fast on the special day!

Her favorite gifts were from Grandma Kathy and Grandma Yearsley. Grandma Yearsley gave her money so we could go dress shopping--she picked a lovely one. I'll get a picture up soon.
Grandma Kathy gave her a gift certificate to Amazon. She'd never been on Amazon and was blown away at all the options of things available to spend her money on. They have a bit better selection than Kings! We'll get pictures of her purchased presents up here soon, too!

Madeline is a fabulous asset to our home. She has recently graduated to status of "occasional babysitter" for which I am truly grateful! She also loves to help take care of Anna--changing clothes, diapers, getting her ready for church, etc. It is wonderful to have her help. We love her soooooooooo much!
