Originally when we got the trampoline, I hadn't planned to set it up until spring time--or at least close to spring. We told the girls we'd set it up when it got warmer. Every time the sun was shining Natalia would say "It's warmer! We can set up the trampoline!"
I really wasn't totally sure if it was okay to have it up in the winter. Some people take them down, some leave them up. Finally I decided I see more trampolines up than down in the winter, so I'd just set it up. Plus, I really need my kids to WANT to go outside to play and use up some energy during the winter more than the summer.
Kevin didn't have a day off for a few days, so I got out the dolly cart and lugged the thing out into the back yard. With my four helpers, I got the thing set up all by myself in about 2 hours. The girls were sooooooooo excited to start jumping! It was a little chilly by the time I had finished, but they jumped and jumped anyway. Their toes were nearly frozen by the time I made them come in, but they didn't care!
We have had lots of very warm (upper 40's or lower 50's) days, so it has received great use. Even Kevin and I have had our turns on it. Anna is a little unsure about it, but she does like to watch her sisters jump and be bounced while being held.
If our New Years Resolution for our kids happens to be to get more exercise, I think we'll achieve it!

I just think of all the ways Lance and I tried to kill each other on the trampoline. Hopefully your girls are better behaved.
ReplyDeleteOh man...I don't know if I should tell my boys you guys got a trampoline. I will be pestered until I get a migraine to make a trip to Burley. They have been BEGGING for a trampoline. Greg and I keep saying someday, but it might be time.
